A fantastic way to introduce young children to the concept of climate change and what they can do to make a difference。 It is also wonderful for them to see that no matter how little you are, you can make a change!

This is a great addition to the Little People, BIG DREAMS baby series! The graphics are vibrant and the story is simplified for younger readers。 My kids enjoyed that this book revolved around a young child, which made it more relatable。 We enjoy gardening and trying to be earth friendly, so they loved that Greta focused on treating the world better and made a stand。 Fun book!

I like that Greta has been chosen as one of the people to feature in this series, as someone the young generation of readers can identify with。 I didn't like the illustrative style of this book as much as others in the series, and I was surprised that the various international awards and recognition she received were not mentioned。 I think the emphasis that she believes Asperger's is her super power would be very empowering for other readers on the spectrum。The rest of this review is about the s I like that Greta has been chosen as one of the people to feature in this series, as someone the young generation of readers can identify with。 I didn't like the illustrative style of this book as much as others in the series, and I was surprised that the various international awards and recognition she received were not mentioned。 I think the emphasis that she believes Asperger's is her super power would be very empowering for other readers on the spectrum。The rest of this review is about the series, rather than this individual book。 I have long liked the concept behind these books, but have baulked at the cost of building a collection in my library at their RRP。 This year, many titles have become available at a much more reasonable price point, and so we now have around 30 of the books in our collection。The illustrations are generally colourful and engaging, the information brief, but fascinating and an excellent way to introduce these pioneers to young readers。 I do wish the timeline at the back was over 4 pages, with additional detail than just the 2 presented。 This would allow older readers to engage more deeply with the person, whilst younger readers could just read the illustrated story。 。。。more

Like many others in this series, this is a most basic introduction to its subject。 My own kids — 5 and 7 — were impressed that Greta took such initiative and action when she was so young。 There is brief mention of her Asperger’s diagnosis。 The only thing missing that I wish had been included was a little more information on climate change itself, but given the spare nature of these books I’m not surprised it wasn’t in there。 I myself am both impressed by Greta Thunberg, and by the range of subje Like many others in this series, this is a most basic introduction to its subject。 My own kids — 5 and 7 — were impressed that Greta took such initiative and action when she was so young。 There is brief mention of her Asperger’s diagnosis。 The only thing missing that I wish had been included was a little more information on climate change itself, but given the spare nature of these books I’m not surprised it wasn’t in there。 I myself am both impressed by Greta Thunberg, and by the range of subjects included in this series。 。。。more

Super interesting book。 I found the book interesting because Greta is from our generation。 So being informed on where she started, and challenges she faced was really captivating。 Something i was surprised by was that she suffers with autism。

Greta Thunberg is book in the Little People, Big Dreams series and is a children's picture book written by Isabel Sánchez Vegara and illustrated by Anke Weckmann。 It is a cursory biography of Greta Thunberg from her childhood in Sweden, where she was taught by her parents to love the environment and how she took action as an activist on the planet's behalf。Greta Tintin Eleonora Ernman Thunberg is a Swedish environmental activist who is internationally known for challenging world leaders to take Greta Thunberg is book in the Little People, Big Dreams series and is a children's picture book written by Isabel Sánchez Vegara and illustrated by Anke Weckmann。 It is a cursory biography of Greta Thunberg from her childhood in Sweden, where she was taught by her parents to love the environment and how she took action as an activist on the planet's behalf。Greta Tintin Eleonora Ernman Thunberg is a Swedish environmental activist who is internationally known for challenging world leaders to take immediate action against climate change。 Thunberg initially gained notice for her youth and her straightforward speaking manner, both in public and to political leaders and assemblies, in which she criticizes world leaders for their failure to take what she considers sufficient action to address the climate crisis。Vegara's text is rather simplistic, straightforward, and informative。 It starts off with a young Greta in Sweden, who was taught to love the environment and her crusade to urge World leaders to save it through her activism。 Backmatter includes a concise and informative biography timeline of Greta Thunberg's life。 Weckmann's illustrations are drawn well, albeit a tad simplistic, but depicted the narrative rather well and apropos to the target audience。The premise of the book is rather straightforward。 It depicts Great Thunberg's childhood in Sweden rather idyllically as she was taught to love and take care of the planet from her parents。 However, growing up she realizes how slowly and how little people in government around the world is doing very little if anything for the Earth and decided to voice her concern about this, which became a world-wide sensation。All in all, Greta Thunberg is a wonderful biography of a little girl that used her voice to urge a world of those her age to stand up to climate change and urge the people in power to do more to save the planet。 。。。more

Greta Thunberg is a Swedish environmental activist who despises seeing the way the earth has been affected by irresponsible human activity。 Even though she suffers from autism and Asperger’s syndrome, she started expressing her discontent and concerns at a very young age。 By the age of fifteen, she began cutting school to protest the wrongs she saw。 She began public speaking shortly after, in efforts to fix the wrongs that were being done to the earth。This wonderful book about Greta Thunberg, in Greta Thunberg is a Swedish environmental activist who despises seeing the way the earth has been affected by irresponsible human activity。 Even though she suffers from autism and Asperger’s syndrome, she started expressing her discontent and concerns at a very young age。 By the age of fifteen, she began cutting school to protest the wrongs she saw。 She began public speaking shortly after, in efforts to fix the wrongs that were being done to the earth。This wonderful book about Greta Thunberg, in the Little People, Big Dreams series is wonderful! And global warming isn’t going anywhere, anytime soon。 It is a problem humanity will have to grapple with for ages。 It is heart-warming knowing that Greta cared enough to take it upon her shoulders and inspire the next generation into action。 As a child of the 80’s and 90’s, I thought my generation did this too, (we also learned about the ozone layer and cfc’s and global warming) but then you notice siblings with 3-4 cars per household, while our immediate family tries to only bike or use public transit。 Not all our efforts feel like they make any difference。 A drop in the bucket, but they do, when we listen and act responsibly, mobilize, set good examples by limiting long flights, don’t leave as much of a carbon footprint。 And mobilizing speaking up for science in a post-truth era of misinformation。 Listening to the voice of reason。 Greta Thunberg’s voice is loud and clear! And maybe her Aspbergers actually helped her not feel she had to be submissive or overly empathetic towards the needs of any of the fossil fuel guzzling/co2 spewing corporations。 Wear your weaknesses on your sleeve, and be proud of your voice because they may indeed be your hidden superpowers, if you act with integrity and conviction。 You too may be the next Influential figure, sparking a mass movement for betterment and insuring the world has a safe future。 Listen to the children。 Listen to the ones who will inherit our mess。 。。。more
